According to an exclusive report, the Carolina Panthers have fallen in love with Alabama quarterback Bryce Young’s intangibles and have confirmed that they will select him as the first overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
Young, who had a phenomenal season with the Crimson Tide, has been touted as one of the best quarterback prospects in years. He passed for 4,322 yards and 43 touchdowns with just four interceptions and also added 311 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the ground in his debut season.
The Panthers, who have the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, have been linked with several other quarterbacks in recent months, including Oklahoma’s Spencer Rattler and Liberty’s Malik Willis.
However, the report suggests that the team’s front office is now set on drafting Young, with team sources raving about his leadership qualities, work ethic, and ability to make quick decisions on the field.
If the report is accurate, Young would become the first quarterback to be taken with the first overall pick by the Panthers since they selected Cam Newton in 2011. Newton led the team to the Super Bowl in the 2015 season, winning the NFL MVP award along the way.
